Listen on Apple Music

Jennifer Saran’s debut – and her first-holiday disc – is an irresistible set of Xmas classics and sure-fire originals penned with producer and co-writer Narada Michael Walden. Only a Grinch could deny the delight Saran takes in making “The Most Wonderful Time of the Year” her own, and similarly, who wouldn’t be swept away by her sexy and sassy pairing with Walden “Baby, It’s Cold Outside”? Elsewhere, the singer soothes souls on a star-bright version of “Oh Holy Night.” But it is on the album’s originals, the potent funk of “Sweetest Christmas” and the jingle bell-laced “Little Girls Love Christmas Too” that she unwraps her own handmade presents, and the results are spectacular. “Christmas is Really My Thang” is pure merriment, with Saran and Walden casting all cares away as they strut and swing around the tree. One listen and Christmas will be your “thang,” too.
